I changed the Halcyon straps on my BP/wing to Scubapro SS buckles from Day 1 and maybe 600-700 dives later I've never had a tank come loose or injured myself closing the cam. YMMV...
I also find it easier to change tanks between dives as I don't use tank boots and therefore my tanks don't stand up.
Incidentally, Dive Rite offers a similar tank band with SS buckle for less money than $cubapro:
