Approximately - grey whales move south (and further offshore) Nov - late December; they come north (and closer in) Feb - early April. Some stragglers hang-out, even until the next season, but you may be waiting quite a while today. In northern California, Mendocino headlands state park is great on a clear day. Cabo, Mexico is great too, plus you get the Humpbacks breaching. Southern Calif ???

Other whale species are consistently off shore much of the year, but not the grey whale.
