There's been a big die off of the recent red tide bloom in Santa Monica Bay. The decomposition of the decaying biomass has depleted the dissolved oxygen and killed most of the fish in King Harbor. There are dead Garibaldi, bass, thousands of baitfish floating belly up all over the place. The water is brown, brown, brown and stinks to high heaven. Not a good weekend to eat on the pier.

Out by Palos Verdes Point, the water is cleaner. We found good vis on the wreck of the Avalon this am, once we got below the murk.

We need a good off-shore wind to push the anaerobic water off shore.
