My view is that CCRs, SCRs, and these newly described battery powered O2 diffusers will never take the place of tank scuba, simply because nothing is more safe than tank scuba.

In tank scuba you premix your breathing gas and youre deco gas and take them with you. They are there when you need them.

You do not have to depend on batteries or gadgetry or chemicals to work or to do their job in order for you to breathe, such as you do with CCRs and SCRs and these new "diffusers."

Sure there are some jobs where you need a CCR. But that is what OSHA and life insurance is for as well.
