Think: The boats don't run full each day

Yes, $200 for a boat owner's kid is pretty good, but that $200 might have to last him the week and off-season. And most often those "kids" are men and women with family and obligations. Can you live on $200 a week? I don't see any crew (or Captains for that matter) driving new Porches or BMW's to the docks. Considering the day's diving is close to $100, thanks to fuel increases, $15 per person is a fair tip as a percentage of cost.

I also don't buy the argument for tipping less in Mexico or other locales (obviously unless its a half day boat in which case you adjust accordingly). Doesn't your Mexican or foreign crew work just as hard?
