I vote for renting on Catalina. I suspect that the rental trailer will operate on the weekend and maybe during the week if they think there will be enough business. I prefer to use Catalina Scuba Love and rent their cart with the tanks. Either place will be good. Are you diving alone? I did not hear you mention anything about buddy's. Do not dive alone until you have a great deal of experience and are fully able to perform self rescue in any situation. I dive solo most of the time and I take it seriously. Maybe that is why I have never had an injury or close call in 25 years of diving in So Cal.
