i find your last comment interesting b/c i've never

i was apprehensive about night diving before my recent
'aow' cert, but since then i have night dived off shaw's
cove in laguna beach and enjoyed it very much. now
i'm not so apprehensive about it.
...however...solo night diving...i think i can honestly
say that i'm not quite ready for that...and, besides,
where do i test myself that way if it's illegal to
dive w/o a buddy in laguna beach??? can you please
advise on other locales that don't have such municipal
obstacles...?...
here's another q for you then: what about leading
a dive--during the day--w/a couple of other relatively
inexperienced divers? (at least inexperienced compared
to myself.)
wouldn't that be solo diving? and, if so, and if
i still did that dive w/them successfully, wouldn't
i then be ready for outright solo diving?
that's actually going to be the case in 1.5 weeks--
i will be diving w/a couple of other divers who don't
dive often and are looking to me to lead (i think
i will actually be mentoring one of them).
any tips on that situation??
