Sorry to report that this is true. He and his buddy found a small pinnacle at Farnsworth at 290' and decided to try for 300'+ the next weekend at the Matterhorn. My wife has told my friend to log all of his dives so that when he dies, she can write a book about him. BTW, I do at least keep all of my dives within a ppo of 1.6 and have used his Hog rig a few times, but find my BC to be more comfortable than a backplate. I have adopted the iso manifold and 7' hose w/necklaced backup, so I'm slowly but surely trying to DIR.
