i was not aware that some dives were like that.
i do remember quite well one day on the 'spectre',
we tried to make it to san miguel and the swells
were 8-10ft. the capt turned around halfway there
and returned to dock.
based on this experience, i thought that boats
did not deal w/anything other than maybe 1-2 ft
swells and perhaps a strong current now and then.
