I really liked Seahunt's idea of a "D.J.F." designation - Doing Just Fine. However, I think I might modify this (and will probably actually use this in my classes) to "D.F.F." - Diving For Fun.
Seems to me that it encompasses all sorts of sub-categories of diving activities (looky-loo, photo, hunting, deep, shallow, etc.) and - hopefully more importantly - re-emphasises why many of us got into this sport in the first place - IT'S A FUN THING TO DO!!!
