The reports are conflicting at this point. One story said the diver was solo with his brother holding the end of a tethered line. It said the line became entangled and the diver surfaced in a air pocket and breathed and died from what was apparently "bad air". The other report said the diver became entangled and his brother pulled up a empty line and then went for help.
The consistent parts are that he was in 4ft. of water, and that the first part of the mine was dry. The diver was from Arizona and a paramedic.
He was wearing some sort of computer that a Sheriff's diver reported was like a black box because it reported a summary of the dive including oxygen used.
