While it may happen very occasionaly, diving like many sports have been classified by the court systems as HIGH RISK ACTIVITIES. As a result, anyone engaging in them is believed to have knoweldge of the risk involved, and it is very difficult to even get these in court, let alone win a case against someone. I learned about through the moutain rescue group I was with when we were concidering liability insurance for a summer class we taught each year. Any liability waiver someone signs is worth about how much the paper cost to print it. They won't save you from being sued. This was the legal advice we received.
