You so correctly stated that this can't really be used against solo diving. I intended to use this as an example for the few posters on this board who repeatedly claim their right to dive, to dive risky dives, and to die if it so happens. Of course, one can't really expect that such minds see themselves in this example, but that is their problem.
Should we try to protect stupid people from themselves? A selfish answer would be: if their death does not inconvenience me, then the heck with them. But if I'm on a liveaboard with them, I do have an interest in their protection. How about you?
