i responded directly to a query ~1 month ago on this board re:the so-called 'take' policy of the 'long beach aquarium of the pacific'.
i made a mistake--here is a direct quote from the director of husbandry:
"although we do have Scientific Collecting Permits to collect specimens for our exhibits, Cal. Fish and Game specifically prohibits us from collecting at Catalina Island at this time. I hope that at some point in the future we may get some exceptions to that but for now we honor their request and we do not collect any specimens from that area."
i was also chastised for giving out any info about this topic (or any other) w/o prior advanced permisson from the aquarium.
