I just got certified today. After completing our controlled emergency ascent (the ahhhhhhh thing into the regulator, exhaling all the way up), I noticed something.
Let me add I coughed about 10 feet from the surface... Anyhow, upon surfacing I had some phlegm to spit out, and when did so it was filled with blood. I checked twice more, same thing.
I didn't think anything of it as I have allergies and this sometimes happens. Upon getting home though, I realized I had blood from my nose dried all around the ridge of my nose, and I still was coughing up blood for a good hour after completing the dive.
Do I need to head to the hospital?
