Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed?

New to diving, eh? Well let me tell you a few things about old salts - in diving or boating it is the same. We are all opinionated SOBs. We feel strongly about many things and engage in spirited discussions. This is good, not bad.

One of the big reasons for many of the arguments here is the fact that we all fear that a newbie might do things they shouldn't because of what we post. For example - solo diving. If you have to ask about, it is a sure bet that you should not do it. Many of us, including Frank, do it and defend our right to do so, but generally few of us encourage others to do it. By the way, DO NOT DO IT. Much of the debate on this subject is beause of the fear that we may accidentally encourage others to do dangerous behavior. But we argue and exchange ideas. Sometimes we change our opinions. Sometimes we learn new perspectives. The important thing is that we discus and learn.

Frank has been a catalist for many good arguments. Do not get excited about arguments, get into them.

And if you want to complain about someone being less than tolerant, do not be arrogant and insensitive yourself. Your garbage like: "Maybe you should start fresh today, and take "one day at a time", brother" is nothing but a crappy attempt to get an angry response.

Grow up. You will note that Frank did not take the bait. He responded civilly. Then you did it again in a second juvenile attempt to provoke him. Please bring a higher level of discussion to the board or remain a lurker.

Wayne
