i was and still am in a situation similar to yours with regard to build. I have an el cheapo 5.00 Trident belt with coated weights (Lead is a toxic metal, and i do store the thing in my car, bedroom or living room, depending on where i drop it after coming home exhausted). the damn thing used to slide around like crazy until i started using keepers to keep certain weights (the heavier ones) towards the front and the smaller, lighter two -pounders to the rear. That way, the buckle stays in the front, where i can ditch in a nanosecond if the need arises (not a trivial point. BTW, i have a spare belt with a dozen keepers (two per weight, so each one is held in EXACTLY the position i want it) for use in other parts of the world. I customize my belt where ever i happen to be.
