The following was a posting I found on a fishing board. Appears that the Coast Guard and SD Life Guard reacted to the incident pretty quickly. Reminds me of the importance of having all of your safety equipment topside.

Was out on the New Seaforth today (Sun.) and was headed into the M.B channel, when we spotted a flare in the sky. We started over to them full speed and they were waving their arms like crazy, as we pulled up they yelled they had a diver missing for 15 min. and their radio wasnt working. The capt. of the New Seaforth called the coast guard and there was a life guard out there in no time. We saw another lifeguard boat heading out with two divers ready as we pulled into mission bay channel. Heard on the radio today that the divers body was found, and her tank was found floating separately from her. She was a very experienced diver with over 3,000 dives, so far nobody knows what went wrong (besides the tank being 200 ft. away from her.) Thats the 2nd death at the Yukon in two weeks.
