Hi Seahunt,

Loved the large boat story. Learned a long time ago that judging their distance and potential point of interestion is truly an art form. Last year coming back from SB Island on a commercial dive boat we had the pleasure to awake on the rear deck to a huge cargo ship blasting it's horn-it was within a boat length of our stern as we crossed in front of them. I'm sure I could have reached out and touched her. I looked up to see several seamean from the freighter clamly staring down at us from way up on their bow. Very weird!
I had seen it earlier off our port side and well behind us. We were in front and therefore had the right-of-way, our Captain must have thought he was crossing well in front of them. Apparently he too had misjudged their closing speed and distance. I wish I'd had a camera handy.

JRG
