Hopefully you're having a lucky Friday the 13th and we are, too, as the Michael Kane $10K Chamber Challenge to benefit the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber (part of the overall festivities of Chamber Day/Eve, May 2) is just shy of $13,000. (Not sure if there's any significance in that or not.)

Some people have e-mailed us and wondered why this chamber needs a fund-raiser like this when others don't. The point is remember is that this chamber, unlike other hyperbaric facilities, is NOT affiliated with a hospital. Their sole purpose is to treat diving injuries. They don't have the luxury of getting additional income from treating burn cases, surgeries, etc., as do other hospital-based chambers.

And that's why Chamber Day, Chamber Evening, and the Challenge become so important to our Catalina Chamber.

YOU can truly make a difference be either signing up for one of the boats on May 2 (remember that the Encore will run on Monday, April 30), attending Chamber Evening at the fabulous Aquarium of the Pacific, contributing to the Challenge, buying raffle tickets . . . or some combination of those.

But the point is GET INVOLVED!!!! Don't sit back and wait for someone else to do it. We're less than three weeks away from the event and we need your help. The question is . . . Are you willing to step forward and respond?

So, WHO'S NEXT??????
