Only had it in the water yesterday, Chamber Day, for the first time and didn't notice the crotch strap, mainly because I wrapped it with a soft neoprene cover. (Are you reading this Halcyon, hint, hint!). I was more concerned about slipping out of the non-adjustable shoulder straps but that was no problem. The Pioneer 27 is everything the DIR dudes claim it is. Happy I switched from a jacket BC.
