if you're located in the Orange County area, check out Scuba Toys in Cypress and you might be able to rent a backplate & wings from Jim Hoffman and join his group on the Magician for a half day at Catalina to iron out the trim, fit and weight distribution issues. If you do rent, be sure the rig has the crotch strap and if you rent the integrated weights, make sure that you can keep them from sliding around on the harness /w/ a plastic buckle or something.
