"What tanks do you dive with? What about the wing,
what size and type do you feel is right for your
kind of diving? Do you use a console?"

I'll list the config I used at Farnsworth Sunday to save time.

DUI 350 TLS Rock boots, DUI warm neck hood & gators
HP100 Atomic B1T2 standard length hoses
AL30 Pony MX10 G250 used for bailout only rear mounted onto HP100 tucked in out of current.
Koplin SSBP Zeagle 45# wing harness single piece strap
Scubapro AirII
Scubapro Twin Jet split fin
DUI weight harness 12# lead
Suunto Cobra attached to and mounted under inflator hose on a retractor
Citizen Hyperaqualand depth gage and BT
Reef Scuba reel and dive knife
100# lift bag, spare mask and small light in dry suit pockets
Nixonos V w/15mm 6' arms 2-200 Ikelite cannons with compass mounted to frame.

"How does the way you configure differ from DIR?"

No twins, no manifold, no bands, no canister light, no long hose, no necklace, no clipping and unclipping spg to check air, no cinderblock fins, add computer, add redundant air, add camera.

"What makes it so much better for you?"

Other than personal choice, I'm safer more efficient.
