AUL vs Halcyon

some time back on this BBS someone alluded to a BP available at AUL for only fifty bucks...."In the interest of science" (cheapskate) I ordered one. It got here today, what a dissapointment! Way NOT WKPP!!
1) the D-rings are stainless (some not all) but are 1/2 D-rings and NOT the full bent ones
2)the main buckle is a black plastic "Trident" type NOT a Halcyon or ScubaPro
3)the BP itself while it MAY be of high grade aluminum (no facilities here to test that) it is NOT bent at the corners nor drilled like the WKPP and all edges are rough (in fairness it said the holes and edges would be that way plainly on the site) and the coating is pitted.
4) there is no knife sheath included (none was promised)
5) the sewing on the crotch strap while I am sure I could lift my car with it, is sub-standard (I sew beter on a 78 year old machine)
The price is OK for what I have here but it is NOT as advertised or insinuated the WKPP variety that Halcyon sells. Do yourself a favor and trust that Halcyon is the better deal really!
P.S. anyone interested in a "nice" unused AUL BackPlate in unused condition?
