Hunting mostly involves cover large areas.
The BC is a sea anchor, that increases drag and makes you use more effort to move, thus causing increased air consumption and reduced mobility.
Well designed BCs, like Halcyon's small wings minimize this effect, but do not eliminate it.
An old fashioned backpack keeps a tank closer to your back, reducing drag even further than a tech back plate with single tank adaptor. (yes I do own and have used one)
Effective use of the no bc technique demands proper weighting.
The details of this take more time to describe than I have now…. I'm packing for Begg Rock.
