I have just finished reading through an interesting thread of messages regarding the changes in scuba instruction and I am curious what instructors (or anyone else) feel about the Discover Scuba program where people with no dive experience can take an extremely short "class" and hop straight into the water.
I had a friend that tried this and was scared out of her mind as soon as she got in the water (at Casino Point on Catalina Island)...she never even made it underwater. I have to believe this is common, but I am curious what you all may have experienced.
