First time diving for lobster on the San Diego Coast

I'll be freediving from my kayak and have after some research, I've decided on several places: Zuiga jetty and mission bay jetties. I've heard that Pt. Loma (Zuniga) can be crazy crowded. Without giving out exact coordinates to your favorite spots, please suggest some calmer places for a novice to practice. I don't have to go home with a limit (6 is acceptable :), but I'd like to get the hang of it.
