Call me a wuss if you must, but I'm not into the opening night scene. Prefer the next night. I can get in the water earlier. Went to my favorite spot in Santa Monica bay. It is a not so secret spot, quite a few other divers there already. Entered the water at 9pm and just after mid-nite. I got two plus-legals, two big ones and a bigger one (eight pounder). My buddy got two. I too, was concerned about the effects of the huricane. It seemed for not reason. 1' - 2' swells on the first dive, some four footers in between. Like glass motoring back to MDR, under the full moon and stars. Vis. 5-10, normal for here. Water temp 65!! Great night of diving. If I didn't have to go to work on Monday, I'd be there tonight. Lots, of big-uns still in the rocks.
