It's the same material but comes in rolls in various thicknesses. Most easily available at West Marine where you can buy it by the foot or roll. No hooks! Different colors! Whooppee.
I use the thin stuff (1/8") permanently affixed. Other use the noose with slightly thicker (1/4")cord.
