I'm still using a simple surgical tubing necklace that Mike made at a demo a couple years ago. No rotting, and it slips off only when I'm putting the necklace around the neck. In water it's fine.
I've thought about switching to cord, but I've not been motivated to bother, and I'm not quite sure I'd prefer that over something I can yank out at will.
