Both. I know, you're right. I only have a few pounds reserve buoyancy at 100 wet, but I rarely go that deep on a single. My typical single wet dive maxes at about 80 and is more likely to be a beach dive to 40. Everything else is dry or dry w/ doubles. The 18 is really a tropical bladder. I was just making the point about the 27 being enough for someone my size in California.
