If I didn't have a SAC that matched reasonably
close to the other team members, or if I was a
hoover in the first place, I would not be as
efficient nor have enough reserve gas to use if
needed amongst the rest of the team. If we were
in a restriction calling the dive at 3rds, and
the rest of the team wasn't even close to 3rds
yet, I would be cutting the dive short for all
involved just because I wasn't as efficient as
they were. If we are all reasonably close to the
same SAC, then we would all be using our gas
collectively efficient for the tasks at hand.
