Two things are for sure:

1) trim is in the eye of the (aware) beholder

2) a buoyancy/trim system that allows a diver to assume and effortlessly maintain any trim s/he desires is the superior one.

Can you describe this swimming technique you are trying to make work for you? Could it have anything to do with a monofin?
