There are many time I spit a single fish into several containers, becasue I can not eat the whole thing at once.
Also, most times I return from a dive trip I am not ready to eat the fish on the spot.
Most seafood, unless you are going to eat it on the spot, keeps best when frozen.
Thus even if I intend to eat it the same week, it goes into the freezer.
Also, if the seafood is forzen quickly, and properly, none goes to waste, becasue it all gets eaten.
Proper storage of your catch, so it can all be consumed, minimzes waste and I believe shows true respect for the use of the resource.
