Computers are not like some great mystic that came to diving, although you would think so. They are an aid to diving unfortunately many do not understand what that means. The computer is only as good as the diver is with dive planning and backup. Missed decos fast assent rates, things a particular computer will react to, are all things within the divers control. If the computer reacts unfavorably then the diver should no the appropriate response. Most computers are overly conservative, which leads me to belive it is very difficult to blame a bends case on a instrument. As far as repetitive diving goes, if you totaly depend on your computer you are being foolish. You need to build in other safety factors to your dive profile, which encompasses a whole other topic. As far as I can tell a computer just makes things a little easier. You still need to know what is going on in reality.
