Do what I did. It works great. put your mask at the deep end of the pool, and put a bag of shot or something to keep it down. then swim down to it and put it on and clear your mask. Do this a few times withought tanks then do it with air.

Also a good thing to try is inflating your BC on the surface of the pool breath from your reg normally then submerge your face withought a mask on and practice breathing, but make sure to leave your eyes open and your nose unplugged. This is what my good friend did to overcome his panic.

And dont worry it happens to many many divers, its just a part of the process.... good luck..
