I agree with the advice Wayne gives. In addition, tilt your face downward - this will help keep water out of your nose. PADI requires you to do the no mask swim for one minute in the pool. There is no time limit for the mask removal and replacement in the Open Water. You can do it as quickly or slowly as you want. I suggest that you slowly flood your mask so you can get used to the cold water before removing it. If you do it quickly, it will be more of a suprose. Your mask removal and replacement just has to be in a fluid and repeatable manner.
