I, personally, do not believe that civilian divers should be diving with SCRs nor CCRs, and therefore, I would never go that route, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

There are a whole lot of ways you can get killed with a CCR, in addition to all the ways that tech diving can kill you. They are just too unsafe, and belong in the arena of deep, really deep underwater filming by professional divers.

And SCRs cant go very deep, so what are they good for, besides shallow water hunting and photography? And that does not meet my definition of tech diving.
