dr. bill has it right, as to the point i was trying to make. my use of the word "great" may have come across in a different way than what i had intended (problem with email and chat boards, you can't see my facial expressions). the life in the protected areas such as big fisherman's cove, blue caverns, and others dr. bill has mentioned areas are unbelieveably healthy in many aspects. compare that area, or ecosystem if you like with others, emerald cove, long point, arrow point, and the abundance and health of the life is very different. now, that is just my "opinion" as i have been to all these areas, and my "opinion" is based on observation, not emperical data of the numbers.

my point about casino point, was that as it is a no take zone, (and the fish know that by the way) and the ecosystem in the point is much different than dive spots where "taking" is legal. personally, i would love to see moorings set up at the dive spots along catalina, and more considerate divers of the world they are visiting...off my box...
