Thanks for the links, Chris. The explanation of the crystaline structure in the spines is pretty mind-blowing. An astounding, beautiful example of the genius of evolution. I really like the Sue Daly photos as well. I find other temperate/cool waters to be very interesting, probably even more so than tropical waters. Along a similar vein, if you are interested, is a site that I found that has photos of Norwegian marine life. Some of them look like they could be at the Channel Islands or northern California. I was pretty surprised and amazed by the lushness of the marine life. Here is the link:
