There's a small cove just south of the Elephant Seals where you can freedive, or if your the Wednesday night type of diver like Jon you could haul a tank down the trail. It's not as steep as P.V. trails, but a little longer. There is bull kelp close to shore and sand channels that lead straight out to sea. Sea otters can also be found in the kelp offshore. The only light in the area is the Piedres Blancas lighthouse to the North, so if you make a night dive be prepared to have someone on the shoreline with a light.
