The Catalina Conservancy Divers have recorded temperatures at depth around Catalina since 1992. This article:

summarizes the long-term temperature analysis. Essentially, in the winter there is little difference in temperature in the water column (lots of mixing). In the summer, there can be 10 deg F difference between the temperature at 15 feet and at 100 feet (little mixing of the water). That's all on average, mind you! If you want to know more, PM me.
