My buddy Marc and I went to a local wreck today for my 1,000th dive. As a tribute to Doug Williams, Marc brought up a small brass plate. :-)
We then went to a reef off Palos Verdes where I found a 6.1 pound bug and Marc got two 2.5 pounders. We got back onboard, took showers and had lunch, all the while enjoying the flat-as-lake ocean. As we approached Pt. Fermin we saw a sailboat about 100 feet away circling a dead body in the water. The Coasties and L.A. County Lifeguards came and hauled him/her onto the lifeguard boat. I'm happy that I had a better day than that person.
