I agree and disagree. Logs are only useful if required for advanced "patches" and/or recording events on dive sites you intend to return to. Responsible resort dive venues wave the logs aside and concentrate on in-the-water skills. In 40 years of active diving, world-wide, I have over 3,800 dives, a fraction of them logged, mainly in the early years; a diving diary, vaguely recalled. But then at 72 I'm entitled to my "senior diving moments" ;-) I think it was Ingrid Bergman who said: "Happiness is achieved by good health and a bad memory".
