I always put the sillicon grease on everything. It didn't work well enough. What is interesting is that it rotates freely in the strobe mount - it isn't sticking to the strobe, it is the ultralite base adaptor that is like welded to the cross pin screw thing. Hours of liquid wrench are getting to me now. I've even tried holding the cross pin with a wrench and hitting the ultralite adaptor with a hammer - it doesn't budge.
