SSS is in conflict with DAN in regards to over possible billing of charges that DAN didn't approve in their consult and treat agreements. DAN says the itemizations don't match the approved billing codes agreed upon, and therefore has been slowly auditing the actual services provided by SSS before paying. It's a due process to keep treatment costs in check and in the best interest of DAN members to make sure the possible mis-coded costs are not passed onto the membership in the form of additional membership fees (not insurance premiums, big distinction). SSS is not happy with the slow progress of the audits and therefore is putting pressure on DAN to settle by advising the public that they are turning off accepting DAN insurance. It's SSS's hope the public will put the pressure on DAN to just settle quickly and pay the possible inflated charges.

People who dive there in California should have no problem getting DAN authorized treatment.
