I agree with most of what Kendall said but:

1. Reading Marta's post again, I get the impression that she'd been
using the fins for a while with rubber straps, and the spring heels
were a recent change. Given that, I'd be looking at the spring
heel fit first. And also given that Ken has offered to check the
fit on the spring heels, that sounds like a super first move.

2. I've found that if I'm weighted right, I can shrink wrap the
suit (which I need to do because I'm a photographer and spend a
lot of time more or less standing on my head taking pictures of
some little critter on the bottom) and use the BC to compensate
for the changing buoyancy of the tank. By the time I'm ready to
come up, I just dump the BC and let the suit loft a little. No
messing with the BC on the ascent, other than to confirm that
it's empty a couple of times.
