Not so. I would die in anything as thick as 9mm. My 'heavy' 2 piece farmer john is 7mm (I've had it in the 40's comfortably) and the one piece he made for me a few months ago is 5mm (both lovely, not spongy materials with plush lining). I'm waiting for my thin suit to wear out to have him make me one of those too.
