"Everyone seems to do the same dive times ( actually often less) the same depths, and the same deco"

The difference in deco times is substantial between a CCR and open circuit.

"it would appear that most of these rebreather divers are typicallly established middle aged teckno freaks with a moderately filled billfold who possess very few diving skills."

Seems a pretty derisive statement to me. Would you include Howard Hall, Bob Cranston, and virtually every other professional underwater fim maker in that group? There are terrific advantages to diving a CCR... but like driving, if you don't pay close attention you will get your ass handed to you rather abruptly. Have you ever dove one yourself or are you just pontificating from a wellspring of ignorance?
