You are more than right here.
The legal can of worms was opened and brought to the forefront of attention when someone publically reported their first hand observation of the dead diver's gear. This is what the case will try to feed from.
Handling and monitoring it on the boat after the accident will lead to all kinds of discerning accusations by the barristers. Given theat, it is hopeful certain persons have a a lot of time to spend providing in person statements and testimony over and over again.
This one might end up being one hell of a tort ride by the time it's all over.
